As part of HRD activity, CSIR-CFTRI conducts a number of training courses, in the area of Food Science and Technology. The major objective of these training courses is dissemination of knowledge in the field Food Science and Technology to various stake holders of agri-food industry. The expertise, vast knowledge base and extremely good infrastructure in-terms of pilot plants & analytical facilities of the organization makes these courses very unique. The short duration (3-15 days), but intensive training courses are mainly in areas of Food Processing & Technology for preservation & value addition; Food Safety, Standards & Regulations; Food quality & Analysis; Food Engineering; Food Packaging and Entrepreneurship Development. These training courses are packed with lectures, demonstrations and in few cases visit to industries. The faculty members drawn from internal and external pool of experts handle lecture, practical classes and demonstrations.
Our regular courses are basically designed to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of participants consisting of students, young entrepreneurs, academicians and representatives from industries, provide basic information as well as recent advancements in specific areas of Food Science and Technology. The other category called the ‘tailor made courses’ are highly focused and designed to meet the needs of customers, who could be ‘Group of farmers’, SHGs, NGOs, MSMEs or multinational companies.
The training at the sprawling campus of CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore, provides a wonderful opportunity for the participants to avail well equipped Library facility, visit to other facilities, and interact with scientific staff during the training period. All participants will receive a ‘Certificate of Participation’ on successful completion of course.
